The Creation of Honeycomb Designs.
After gaining a degree in Fashion and Textiles followed by a long career in the garment industry and sewing for half a century!! I have collected quite a range of fabrics and haberdashery. My bags are inspired by my collection and also my love of vintage clothing and accessories and the detail and design of them.
My skills and experience have grown over the years working as a Designer/Pattern cutter and as a lecturer in Fashion and Textiles. I have made bags, in various forms,since I started sewing at 8 years old and first learned hand embroidery.
The design of my bags is inspired by vintage styles and shapes but what makes them unique is the use of many different techniques I use to embellish them.I use the manipulation of fabric in many different ways and often incorporate this with machine embroidery.
The fabrics I use are a mixture of vintage and repurposed with a small amount being newly purchased. Each bag comes with a little card that tells origins of the idea behind them and the fabrics and trims used to make them. I never make the same bag twice, maybe similar but never repeated, which makes them unique and made just for you.
